Other information

Richard's family left Limerick in c1846 and turned up on Jersey, where he met Flavella. (ES)

According to family lore, Richard reputedly dropped the "O'" from O'CONNOR, following an argument over the certificate at his wedding - he certainly had a fiery temper as a grandfather! (KVG)

After their wedding in 1867, Flavella and Richard stayed on at Simon Place for a short time, but Richard became restless to do better as a singer and they moved back to London, but Richard soon discovered that he would not do well enough as a solo singer to earn a living so turned his hand to being a baker.
