After the untimely death of her mother in 1905, Violet Florence (Molly) was brought up by Mildred HERRINGTON, known as "Granny Luckhurst" who had a husband George and who lived in Catford. (MGK) Her sister May Miriam (Wendy) went to live with her father's sister Ella Phoebe FULLMAN (1911 cen). One brother James Alonzo went to live with his uncle Alonzo HERRINGTON (1911 cen), while the other brother Ambrose Edward continued to live with his father and a 'step-mother' who was very cruel to him. | Many years later, Violet was being driven through Snodland by her daughter and she said, "Oh, I think we just passed my brother - I haven't seen him for thirty years", but she didn't want to go back to speak to him. | ||
| Molly was knocked down on a zebra crossing on 31 Jul 1953 by a car driven by Philip BECK of Dorrit Way, Rochester. He was fined £2 for "failing to give precedence to a foot passenger on an uncontrolled crossing". The case was heard at Sittingbourne Magistrates' Court on 16 Sep 1953. | ||
