| Kate married Edward Norman "Ted" CONQUER, (M/1879, Medway, 2a, 612) (FreeBMD) the older brother of my great grandfather, Frederick William CONQUER. Somewhere in my vast quantity of notes, I have a writeup from a great aunt, one of Fred's daughters about Ted, an excellent cornet player, who apparently looked after his family quite well, father of 7 children, six girls and one son, Edward Jr, who did his military time in the South African army. Ted died in 1931 of prostate cancer, pulmonary complications, and diabetes. My great grandfather Fred came to Canada in 1910 as a sailor aboard the ship HMS Niobe, which with her sister ship the Rainbow, became the first two ships of the Canadian navy. Fred stayed in Canada, his family joined him a year later in Quebec City, and he died here in October, 1950. Fred apparently was an excellent cellist. (RHCC) |
